Assign most suitable SID and use initial climb instruction as shown on the procedures.
Unless otherwise specified assign 7000ft initial climb for all aircraft.
Example:
Cleared to Seattle Intl airport via the LEINY# departure, then as filed. Climb via the sid, expect FL340 10 minutes after departure. Departure frequency 120.4, squawk 1234.
If no RNAV departure is useable you can assign Minneapolis# SID and instruct aircraft to expect radar vectors to first fix.
Example:
Cleared to Boston Intl airport via the Minneapolis# departure, radar vectors Greenbay VOR, then as filed. Maintain 5000, expect FL350 10 minutes after departure. Departure frequency 119.2, squawk 1234.
via Aurora or 0501-0577.
KMSP is surrounded by class B airspace. Aircraft entering class B airspace VFR require a clearance in accordance with 7110.65 Chapter 7, section 9-2.
via Aurora or 0341-0346
VFR Departure Example:
Cleared out of the Minneapolis class bravo airspace, maintain VFR at or below 2500 until further advised. Departure frequency 122.8. Squawk 0346
VFR Local Pattern Example:
Cleared to operate within the Minneapolis class bravo airspace, pattern altitude 1000, expect left closed traffic runway 30L, squawk 0346
KMSP is facilitated with ASDE–X (Ground Radar). Pilots are required to operate transponders on mode ‘active’.
KMSP is surrounded by class B airspace. Aircraft operating in class B airspace receive services as outlined in 7110.65 Chapter 7, section 9.
