¶ Airspace
Tampa International Airport airport is surrounded by class B airspace. Aircraft operating in class B airspace receive services as outlined in 7110.65 Chapter 7, section 9.
¶ Airspace delegation
KTPA_TWR owns the airspace inside the Tampa class B surface area from the surface, up to, and including, 2500 feet MSL.
¶ Runway configuration
Select the most suitable runway configuration based on prevailing weather conditions. During wind conditions less than 5 knots, north operations shall be used.
- north operations: Landing and departing runways 1L and 1R

B757, Heavy, and Super aircraft are not authorized intersection departures
for any runway when the full length is usable.
Unless otherwise coordinated, assign all 1L/1R departures runway heading,
and all 19L/19R departures heading 210.
¶ Land and Hold Short Operations (LAHSO)
LAHSO is authorized in VMC between sunrise and sunset when the LAHSO runway is dry and has a tailwind component of less than 3 knots as follows:
- Landing runway 19L to hold short of runway 10-28.
- Landing runway 28 to hold short of runway 1R-19L.
Do not issue LAHSO clearances to any foreign air carriers.
¶ VFR transitions
VFR aircraft transitioning the Tampa class Bravo airspace west to east or east to west will do so via the Bridge transition (over the centerline of runway 10-28 between 2,100 feet MSL and 3,500 feet MSL). These aircraft will be under Air Traffic Control of the overlying facility.
