- Only JUNPR and SAMMI SIDs are to be used during normal operations.
- Instruct aircraft to fly runway heading, on initial climb, assign vectors to initial departure fix. (PARRR or TRPLE)
- Aircraft without a SID may be assigned radar vectors. Aircraft should be instructed to fly runway heading and then assigned vectors to initial fix.
¶ IFR Clearance
IFR (RNAV) Example:
Cleared to Birmingham International Airport via radar vectors to THRSR, then as filed. Maintain 3000, Expect FL250 10 minutes after departure. Departure frequency Atlanta Approach 127.9, squawk 2001.

¶ VFR
Augusta Regional Airport is surrounded by class D airspace. Aircraft entering class D airspace VFR require two-way communication with ATC. 7400.2 Chapter 17, section 2.

VFR Local Pattern Example:
Local traffic approved. Pattern altitude 1200’, expect left closed traffic runway 17, squawk VFR.

Ground is responsible for all movement areas.
Arriving GA traffic and private jets shall be routed to park at the Augusta Regional Airport Services FBO, located just south of the terminal.
¶ Runway Crossings
When requesting a runway crossing from TWR, specify the runway and the point at which crossing will occur, using the format of “Cross (rwy) at (intersection)?”. Callsign is not required.
TWR’s approval is only valid for one aircraft to cross as specified.
