- Tower must instruct aircraft to fly runway heading. On initial climb, approach will assign vectors to initial route fix.
¶ IFR Clearance
IFR (RNAV) Example:
Cleared to Boston Logan International via the BIMMR3 departure, DRIVN transition, then as filed. Climb and maintain 5000, expect FL370 10 minutes after departure. Departure frequency Greenville Approach 118.8, squawk 2001.

¶ VFR
Greenville Spartanburg International Airport is surrounded by class C airspace. Aircraft entering class C airspace VFR require two-way communication with ATC and an operational transponder. 7110.65 Chapter 7, Section 8.
VFR Departure Example:
Maintain VFR at or below 2,000. Runway 4, taxi via L, A.
VFR Local Pattern Example:
Local traffic approved. Pattern altitude 2000’, expect right closed traffic runway 4, squawk VFR.

Ground is responsible for all movement areas.
Arriving GA traffic and private jets shall be routed to park at the Cerulean General Aviation FBO located at L5 and L6.

- TWR owns airspace from the surface up to and including 2,000 feet MSL, 5-mile radius.
¶ Missed Approaches and Go-Arounds
Aircraft should be advised to climb and maintain 3000’, fly runway heading, and handed off to the approach or center controller if available.
