Peachtree Delivery 125.20 | KPDK_DEL
ALL AIRCRAFT: Initial climb 3000. Tower must instruct aircraft to fly runway heading. On initial climb, approach will assign vectors to initial route fix.
IFR (RNAV) Example:
Cleared to Denver International Airport via radar vectors to WETWO, then as filed. Maintain 3000, expect FL340 10 minutes after departure. Departure frequency Atlanta Approach 128.0, squawk 2001.
via Aurora or 2001-2777
Peachtree-Dekalb Airport is surrounded by class D airspace and lies underneath the Atlanta Class Bravo. Pilots should pay close attention to avoid inadvertently entering the Atlanta Class Bravo Airspace. Aircraft entering class D airspace VFR require two-way communication with ATC and an operational transponder. 7400.2 Chapter 17, Section 2.
VFR Departure Example:
Northbound departure approved. Remain clear of the Atlanta Class Bravo. Maintain VFR at or below 2,000. Runway 3L, taxi via B, A.
VFR Local Pattern Example:
Local traffic approved. Pattern altitude 2000’, expect left closed traffic runway 3L, squawk VFR.
Peachtree Ground 121.60 | KPDK_GND
Ground is responsible for all taxiways except those defined below. Aircraft do not need push and start or clearance to move on the ramp. Simply “advise when ready to taxi.”
Tower controls taxiways A, F, C, D, G between runways 3L/21R and 3R/21L.
FBOs and popular parking locations at KPDK:
FBO | Location | Notes |
---|---|---|
Signature Flight Support | North of Taxiway H | Common for jet aircraft |
Epps Aviation | At the intersection of K and B | |
Atlantic Aviation | Located at the West Ramp | Common for jet aircraft |
Clairmont Ramp | Taxiway K | Common for GA aircraft |
Virtually all surfaces to the north and west of the field are available for GA parking.
When requesting a runway crossing from TWR, specify the runway and the point at which crossing will occur, using the format of “Cross (rwy) at (intersection)?”. Callsign is not required.
TWR’s approval is only valid for one aircraft to cross as specified.
Peachtree Tower 120.90 | KPDK_TWR
Runway | Notes |
---|---|
21L and 21R | Preferred. Jet aircraft use 21L |
3L and 3R | Jet aircraft use 3R |
16 | Not preferred, may be requested |
34 | Not preferred, may be requested |
Simulaneous arrivals and departures may be given from runways 21L/3R and 21R/3L with appropriate wake turbulence advisories.
Aircraft should be advised to climb and maintain 3000’, fly runway heading, and handed off to the approach or center controller if available.
Atlanta Approach is responsible for departures and arrivals into KPDK.
Careful attention should be taken to avoid conflicts with arrivals and departures into KATL. VFR aircraft routinely violate the Atlanta Class Bravo airspace on arrival or departure from KPDK, especially to/from the south.
Runway assignments will be instructed on initial contact.
